HOT TUB TIME MACHINE!!! this pitch was sold a little over a year ago. and it seems that mgm fast tracked the shit out of it. the script, while obviously a little stupid (i mean it’s about a jacuzzi that travels through time because of red bull), was pretty fun. and the trailer has got me legit excited.

that’s right, i said it. i saw invictus last night, which i was actually rather excited to see, and man—what a snoozer. the guy just doesn’t seem to know anything about pacing or what story he wants to tell.

every time i get suckered in by his new ‘award season’ movie, and every time i’m totally disappointed. so, im done with you clint eastwood.* no more.

I am totally addicted to the internet. Mine’s been spotty to non-existent today and yesterday, and it’s the worst!!!

Seriously! I am dying over here. No internet at home 2 days in a row. I am standing in an Apple Store using the internet. And apparently my priority is to blog. Kind of.

My unemployment has been a wake up call as to how addicted I am too. Some days I sit at the computer for 8 straight hours without eating. I might as well be in an office! But here is the kicker: I’m barely doing anything online.

last night my little brother and i ventured to the M Park 4 theater to go see the terribly awesome 2012. the movie was what you’d expect: world destruction and overall good timery. but the M Park 4, the M Park 4 was amazing!

what is the M Park 4 you ask? only the craziest little korean movie theater ever. first: it’s situated in a totally anonymous galleria/office building on wilshire. once inside the anonymous building you have to follow a labryinth of signs leading you to an elevator. from there you venture to the 3rd floor (right below a chiropractic clinic of course) where you discover the glory that is the M Park.

In the lobby they still have cardboard cut outs for don’t mess with zohan, as well as a slew of other crazy looking korean movies. and at the concession stand you can buy banana flavored chips or what appeared to be some sort of freeze dried chunk of fish.

the theater is filled exclusively with koreans who love the loud korean commercials that are played before the coming attractions. and the theaters ushers are adorable old korean men who open and close a curtain for the screening room at the beginning and end of the movies.

it was amazing! you should go soon. i mean just check out this website.

the only thing to take into consideration: make sure you don’t go see a movie that’s too subtitle heavy. because at the M Park all movies are subtitled in Korean (naturally). so if they’re not speaking english in some of the scenes, you’re going to be totally lost, unless of course you read korean.

brif… where have you been?! they’ve been doing this thing for years. though it used to be called ‘home james’. they were actually trying turn it into a tv show in like 2004. i know this because i went in for it. nothing more fun then improvising like you’re on a scooter and dealing with improv drunks.

this is a pretty cool idea. you’ve driven to hollywood from the westside for a party (or anywhere in LA, really). crap, you got wasted and it’s WAY too expensive to get a cab. what to do? call y drive la, a new service that sends someone to drive you AND your car home. the price isn’t too bad, either; around 38-45 bux! much better than having to go back to your car in the am. how does the chauffeur get home? he’s packed a small scooter into your trunk/back seat so he can get to his next customer. crazy , right?!

i gotta say, cho, try as i may, i just can’t see the adorability of this spot. when i watch this ad all i see are a bunch of too polished, too cute and (more then likely) deplorable little human being imitations. that and a horde of plastic stage moms just off screen.

i know i should see cute, but i once lived at the oakwoods in the valley during pilot season. during that period i met some of the worst, most despicable, most megalomaniacal people i’ve ever met. and they were all the same ‘cute 8 year old girls’ that this ‘fun’ little ad showcases.

so while you may see cute, i see demon eyes and a coke habit by 12.
